A Moment of Appreciation

I just hung up the phone.
It was Aubrey's science teacher and class on the phone.
She was highlighted today in her class.

The teacher spent a moment reading off the nice comments the students had said about her...
and I caught myself dripping in tears.
Right there in the middle of folding a load of laundry!

I forget to appreciate sometimes.
Someone really special lives here at our house.
She's a quiet work horse who ties up loose ends.
She often goes unnoticed.

I notice.
I need to tell her more.

Thank you for being such a magnificent person Aubrey.
Thank you for taking special care of each member of our family.
Thank you for stepping in as Mom #2 without being asked.
Thank you for leading the pack.
Thank you for the strong example you set for the little ones following.

I love and adore you.
You are amazing.

We certainly can't be prejudiced, but we think Aubrey came and still is perfect!!! I'm so glad your classmates think so, too!!! We are so proud of you and love you dearly.

We love you too Aubrey! I am so thankful that you are such a beautiful, virtuous young woman. Please know that my girls and our family look up to you!!! I know that I can always use you as an example to my girls of a young woman who is choosing the right, dressing modestly, and someone who they just plain old want to be like in many ways. WE LOVE YOU AND ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR YOU!

It's moments like this that make being a mom the best. Those moments when you are busting with pride or dripping in tears of joy are the greatest and most memorable.
Aubrey radiates beauty inside and out. Way to shine Aubrey!!
