Britton and I have jokingly argued over a parenting philosophy for years.
He believes we shouldn't "let" the kids win at things.
I haven't felt it was that big of deal.
When it comes to Max, Britton wins.
Last night at baseball practice,
Max left early in tears.
He was up to bat.
He hit.
He ran.
The ball got to first base before he did.
He was out.
He threw a fit!
A nuclear fit.
He wasn't going to be out.
The pain.
The intensity.
All over getting out at first base.
He was a poor sport.
The poorest of sports.
Teaching him to lose is going to be a new focus, but without crushing his spirit.
The visual display will be humbling I'm sure.
Not looking forward to it.

Poor guy, it's so hard to lose! Especially when you are a competitive little guy, I'm sure his competitive spirit is going to be very important later in his life, just hard now for you guys to help him mold. :( And your story is only funny because my kids do crazy things like that in public sometimes and so I'm laughing because it's funny how kids can totally challenge us to the core as parents. Cute little guy.
Oh we Love you MAX! I am giggling now that I know what happened as I saw you guys leaving the field last night! Being a good sport is hard...I think it might be hard lesson for Carter too this season!
Ha ha! I have to say, I have witnessed Max in his true "poor sport" glory. It makes us giggle. We just figure he is truly living up to his first name. (not that Leo is a poor sport...just very competitive) We love you Max! Tantrums and all!
Trust me, that intensity will get Max a long way in life!! (Just hope he outgrows the tantrums) We love you, Max, and love your zest for life!!! Grammie
