Middle School Follies

Aubrey is running cross country. Her school starts at 9 AM, but we drop her off at 6:30 for cross country practice. She runs with the group, then heads to the locker room to shower and get ready for school. Yesterday morning I received a phone call from her at 8:30 AM... and then a text... frantic because while changing, she realized she didn't pack any underwear. Underwear delivery on its way!!!

Upon arrival to the school drop off area... Aubrey is standing on the curb. Picture tons of kids unloading from the buses and carpools. Aubrey standing amongst them dressed for school from the waist up and a towel wrapped around her from the waste down. Kids looking, teachers questioning, and Aubrey mortified! Poor little thing! (Wish I had a picture...)

Once thing for sure... she will never forget to pack panties again!!

As a former Akimel cross country coach, I can't tell you how many times I had girls running to me in a panic telling me they had forgotten their bra, panties, towel, shoes, socks, shirt, pants, etc, etc. Let her know she is NOT the first, nor will she be the last!!! :)

Similar situation with Maddie in 6th grade...could not figure out the how to open the combination locker with everything in it! Everyone was too busy to help or she was too afraid to ask...got the panic phone call...going to be late for class...I need my clothes, shower, help, what am I going to do. Many more days like these to come my dear...hold on!

Hilarious! Middle school is tough enough without all that. That is great that she is doing cross country early. Getting her ready for seminary in a couple years!
