I'm a carb junky.
For years I have practiced my skills on breads.
I've got bread down.
This year...
Cookies.
I shall master the cookie this year.
First year of marriage memory...
I made cookies.
Britton asks, "Why are your cookies always so thin?"
My reply, "That's the way I like them." (lie...)
Real answer... "I don't know why!"
I truthfully had/have no idea why my cookies are always so thin.
This year, I shall find out.
Stay tuned.

oh I love this one! It usually has to do with how the butter is when you make them.... is it melted? is it softened? is if room temperature? GOOD LUCK! If you need a partner I am available every tuesday and friday! hehe
BEST cookie recipe EVER in your stake's cookbook. page 230 "The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies". They are never flat, and ooooohhhh so yummy! - (use butter flavored shortening)
We need to swap. I have got cookies down but am clueless when it comes to bread. Seriously clueless. If you want to swap secrets I am all for it. Good luck with your quest.
Lyndsey... I'm a cookie making machine! Crazy enough out of all of the great chocolate chip cookie recipes I've made, the one on the back of the Tollhouse is still the best-- just master the consistency of the dough. Also if I know nobody is allergic to peanuts I stick a spoonful of peanut butter into the batter, YUM.
Breads?? I can do a regular loaf here and there but the beautiful ones? Maybe that will be my culinary Mt. Everest this year as well. Good luck!
And I must say that your breads are delicious!!! Especially the Wecca bread on your blog. Hint for cookies: they tell me to use crisco, not butter!!!
I agree with Tarah on that recipe. It is by Jennifer Hansen and really is my favorite. If you want, I volunteer to be your tester!
