A New Treasure

Britton "inherited" a family heirloom a couple months back... this beautiful rocking chair! We have just recently finished refinishing and rebuilding it... and look how cute it turned out! The entire frame had to be taken apart and re-glued, stripped, sanded and refinished. Britton is so proud of it, he informed the kids that no one sits in it without his permission! I think it is pretty cute that he cares so much about it. He doesn't usually care much about anything in the house... his usual response is "Looks great honey!"

Grandma Vicki is smiling down on you right now! She probably knows for sure now if it really belonged to Brigham Young or if he just rocked in it.

Wow, it looks fantastic! Well done! Ah, sweet memories of that overly springy cushion that you would sink into and never get out again. I bet the refurbished version is much more comfortable!

By the way, I made that last comment while Greg was still signed into gmail! I'm so glad that old rocking chair finally is restored!

Great job! Did Britton do that?
I just saw your post on good reads. Anything by Brandon Mull would be fun. Tyler loves "The Candy Shoppe War" and had me read it too. The Fablehaven is also fun for him. Tyler loves to read and would be more than happy to send you a list!

Wow - too bad Brigham Young didn't see it like that!

I love that rocking chair. Sometimes I would go into the garage to feed the cats or get some food and I would just look at it. I'm glad that Britton got it. And kudos on the cow print. A tribute to our heritage? :)
