Britton took Chloe', Benton and Max to a Suns game Monday night. Aubrey had soccer, so we hung back. I had put together a small bag of little treats for Britton to "sneak" into the arena for the kids. There were fruit snacks, Hershley Bars and lollipops. When Britton arrived at the arena, they informed him at the entrance that he couldn't take those treats in. So, he stepped back a couple steps and proceeds to stuff them in his pockets. The worker then tells him, "at least step around the corner while you do that so I don't see!" Britton laughs and does just that.
While this is going on... Benton starts to FREAK out because Daddy is "breaking the rule." He is nearly in tears as Britton reassures him all is fine. This did not calm him at all. They get inside the arena and Benton REFUSES to eat any of the treats because he was so worried he would get in trouble. He continued to look around throughout the game to see if anyone was watching the others eating the smuggled treats and so worried they would get busted.
They stayed to the very end of the game and Benton never ate treat until he was safely back in the car. Amazing.

OK so today we are walking around Target and I see my favorite bag of candy and grab one and rip it open. My kids are horrified, and afraid I'm going to get hauled out for shoplifting. They wouldn't eat any either. Maybe I've instilled a little too much fear... :) But they were sure good, and I didn't need to share!
